Our Story
About Newman Farms
Newman Farms is a family-owned farm in Grainger County, Tennessee — dedicated to ethical, sustainable agriculture and bringing the finest pasture-raised meats from our farm to your table.
Meet the Newmans
A Family Rooted in the Land
Simon grew up in Grainger County helping his uncle in the hay fields, always knowing he would want to own his own farm one day. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2018 and shortly after bought what we know as the farm today. He was very interested in the concept of farm to table and sustainable farming, so he jumped right into it with beef.
Shortly after getting married, Simon and Andrea decided to venture into pork and lamb and grow the family farm. They strongly believe in raising animals ethically and sustainably.

Our Pastures
Our animals spend their entire lives on lush, open pastures right here in Grainger County. Through careful rotational grazing, we ensure the land stays healthy and productive season after season. Our cattle move through fresh paddocks regularly, giving the grass time to recover and grow back stronger.
All of our hay is grown right on the farm and is never sprayed with chemicals or pesticides. The result is clean, nutrient-rich forage that keeps our animals thriving year-round.
Sustainable Farming
How We Raise Our Animals
Every animal on our farm is pasture-raised from birth with full access to fresh air, sunshine, and plenty of room to roam. We never use hormones, antibiotics, or growth promotants of any kind. Our animals grow at their natural pace, the way nature intended.
We believe that healthy, happy animals produce the best meat. That's why ethical treatment isn't just a marketing phrase for us — it's the foundation of everything we do.
Heritage Breed
Our Pigs
Berkshire pigs are a rare heritage breed bred for specialty pork. With smaller litters and longer growing time needed before harvest, they aren't used in mass production factory farms. Higher pH levels in their meat contribute to its famed juiciness, flavor, tenderness and marbling.
Full access to fresh air and plenty of pasture keeps the herd healthy and growing. We feed our pigs non-gmo, corn and soy free feed that is grown by us and outsourced locally.
Grass Fed
Our Cattle
Our cattle are a healthy assortment of Angus, Charolais, and Hereford that are raised from birth on the farm. Our cows spend their whole lives on our pastures starting with mom on milk for at least 6 months of their lives and then exclusively on grass through a combination of rotational grazing and hay that is never sprayed, grown right on our farm.
We focus on getting a decently marbled product by ensuring they are fed high protein grasses like alfalfa.
Spring Lamb
Our Sheep
The meat from the Katahdin is mild, tender, and healthy for you. It is truly unlike any commercial breed on the market. Our lamb is true spring lamb, born on fresh pastures in the spring and raised for the fall harvest. They only ever eat grass and grass hay from the day they're weaned.
